One Dead in Labor Day Crash

Troopers from the Granville Patrol Post are investigating a fatal accident in Licking County.

It happened Monday night at 8:15 PM on I-70 westbound in Etna Township.

Authorities said a Harley Davidson FLHX was traveling westbound when it struck the rear of a Ford F-450 that was moving off the right side of the roadway.

The driver of the Harley Davidson has been identified as 36-year-old Jason Cox of Westerville, Ohio.  Cox was pronounced dead at Grant Hospital.  Authorities said he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the F-450, 22-year-old Michael Knop of Percy, Illinois, was not injured in the crash.

Authorities said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident.
