One in Custody After Standoff
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a burglary at a business Monday that led to a standoff.
Heath Police responded to the scene at 2337 Hebron Road and observed 46-year-old Charles Logan inside the business.
Units formed a perimeter to hold him inside the building. Officials later obtained information he was armed with a firearm.
The Licking County Sheriff’s Office sent multiple units to the scene including their SWAT team along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
After attempts to contact Logan to surrender failed, tear gas was fired into the building which also failed to get him to surrender.
Finally, Licking County Swat made entry and apprehended Logan.
He was treated by EMS for his contact to tear gas and taken to the Licking County Justice Center.
Logan has multiple arrest warrants from around central Ohio. Felony charges will be presented to the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office for this incident.
