One Killed in SR 16 Accident

Newark Police said a 22-year-old Newark woman involved in an accident Tuesday has passed away due to her injures. 

Police said Desiree Meek was traveling at a high speed on State Route 16 westbound at Hudson Avenue when she rear ended a box truck driven by 48-year-old Christopher Burt, of Pataskala. 

Meek’s Jeep Commander rolled over multiple times ejecting Meek and rolling off the roadway. 

Meek was taken to Grant Hospital where she died from her injuries. 

Newark Police continue to investigate the crash.
