‘One Night in a Box’

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Trulight Ministries raises money and awareness for the homeless community in the area by holding ‘One Night in a Box’.
The evening of Friday September 1, 2017 Trulight Ministries is inviting those wanting to support the homeless community by experiencing what it’s like to spend one night in just a box.
“This is just kind of like an opportunity for those who want to come out and experience what it’s like sleeping in a box,” said Trulight Ministries Executive Director Ed Swartz. “Sleeping out in the weather, I know there is supposed to be a chance of rain tomorrow night. So you know what that’s what it would be like for those who don’t have a place where they can stay dry and you’re just out in the elements.”
For every person staying in a box that raises $100 in sponsors gets a free event t-shirt. Swartz said the money raised will go towards providing the homeless with supplies and free meals.
“The donations that we get will obviously be able to help provide those in need with what they need,” Swartz said. “When you have nothing, I mean they’re just ecstatic to get a tent, to get clothing, and to get a coat. We serve free lunches hear on Sunday’s and a lot of them come and that’s the only thing they’ll eat all day on Sunday.”
‘One Night in a Box is from Friday September 1, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. until 7:00 A.M. on Saturday September 2, 2017. The event location is in the parking lot at 807 Putnam Avenue in Zanesville, Ohio. For more information email trulightministries@gmail.com.
