One Person Dead in Perry County Crash

One person is dead after a crash in Perry County.

According to a press release from the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol, around 7 p-m, July 4th, a vehicle driven by 19-year-old William Kokensparger of New Lexington was driving west on State Route 37 in Pike Township when he crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck.

Kokensparger along with his passenger, 16-year-old Lauren Wright of Thornville were taken to Fairfield Medical Center; however, Wright later died as a result of her injuries.

Seat belts were not in use by either Kokensparger or Wright. 

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. The crash remains under investigation
