One Person Killed in Fairfield Co. Crash

One person has died in a Fairfield County crash.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said 25-year-old Sean L. Snoke died from his injuries Monday night.

Troopers report that just after 7p.m. 25-year-old Nelson A. Martinez of Whitehall was traveling eastbound on County Road 7 driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer when he stopped at the intersection of County Road 20, waiting to make a left turn, that’s when Snoke struck the vehicle in the rear with his motorcycle.

A second motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Chase Carlisle of Lancaster then lost control and drove off the side of the roadway striking a guardrail. He suffered non life threatening injuries.

Martinez was transported to Ohio Health Medical Facility with minor injuries.

The patrol suspects alcohol as a reason for the crash. The Ohio State highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit and Ohio Investigative Unit are assisting with the investigation.
