Muskingum Behavioral Health is teaming up with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for a program called Operation Street Smart. The objective is to provide up to date narcotics information such as trends, terminology, and concealing techniques.

“We have two sessions March 1st 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. April 5th 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It’s going to be held at Ohio University Zane State Campus Center. There’s no charge for it,” said Muskingum County Behavioral Health CEO Steve Carrel.

Carrel said this event is open to the public. He encourages parents and those who work closely with young people to attend. Even if you are just curious about what’s out there this event is for you.

“Every time they do Operation Street Smart it’s never the same. As the drug trend change, as the terminology change Operation Street Smart changes. These are officers who are either on the front lines or worked the front lines. They keep up on all of this. I think it’s a great opportunity for people just to come in get updated information,” said Carrel.

The deadline to RSVP for the first session is February 16th and the second session March 16th.
