Organizers Call ‘Nightmare Challenge 5K Mud Run’ a Success

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 3rd Annual Nightmare Challenge 5k Mud Run was designed to get you muddy with your friends.
The mud run took place early Saturday at 7200 Frazeyburg Rd. from 8 a.m until 4 p.m and featured nearly 25 different challenging obstacles along 28 acres of land. Lee Emerson, the owner of the Nightmare Challenge 5K Mud Run said he’s glad to see the community come out and take on the challenge.
“This is a great feeling. I love to see people come out here and do the challenge. They are challenging themselves, it’s just great to see all the people out here participating in it,” said Emerson.
Emerson said one of the most challenging obstacles in the mud run is the ‘Mean Green.’ He told us of the 300 participants only 12 people were able to complete that challenge.
“I want people to leave here with a sense of accomplishment. People come out here and they know they aren’t going to win but, they just want to finish the course and finish the obstacles,” said Emerson.
Emerson said the top male and female winners of the Nightmare Challenge 5K Mud Run will each receive a mountain bike.
