ZANESVILLE, OH – Dana Matz, alongside the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, was honored with an Outstanding Community Partner Award on January 12th.

This prestigious award, presented by Ohio University and Dr. Hannah Nissen, recognized Matz and the Chambers significant contributions in making a real difference to the university campus and the community.

“All of the campuses have selected various community partners who have really made a difference for the campus and for the community and allowed us to work together in ways that benefit everybody in this area. When this opportunity was presented to me, Dana and the Chamber were the first people that came to mind.” Hannah Nissen, OUZ Dean said.

Upon receiving the award, Dana Matz humbly expressed his gratitude stating, “it’s an honor.”

“It’s always an honor when you’re recognized for your work. It’s something that we take pride in. To be able to work with the higher education and entities in our community is something that gives me a lot of pride, and the opportunity to strengthen our workforce because of the higher educational institutes that we have here.” Dana Matz, Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce President said.

This recognition came as part of Ohio University’s second annual Community Engagement Symposium.
