OUZ Nursing Students Wrap Up Annual Blanket Drive

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Nursing Students at Ohio University Zanesville wrapped up their annual Blanket Drive this week.

The Good Samaritan blanket drive ended on Wednesday and Teresa Polen, an Assistant Professor of Nursing Instruction, said she is beyond impressed with her students.

“I really applaud this group,” Polen said. “They kind of got a late start but they grabbed this service project and ran with it and also made a difference.”

Even though it was finals week at OUZ, some of the nursing students helped drop off all of the donations at Eastside Community Ministry.

“This is a great way to have community service acts for the whole student organization.” Lillie Young, a Nursing Student at OUZ, said. “While also benefiting those who might need these blankets this winter.”

Lauren Moll, another Nursing Student, said winter can be a difficult time for some.

“I think we all agree that winter is a hard time for everyone.” Moll said. “I think it’s best we all try to pitch in and help everyone we can, especially when it’s cold out.”

The OUZ Nursing Students donated 52 blankets to Eastside Community Ministry.
