OUZ ‘Spring Fest’ Offers Career Prep Events
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Earning a degree and entering into a new career can be an intimidating process for many.
Ohio University Zanesville Career Development Coordinator Summer Jacobs shared an upcoming event that provides resources for students going through that experience.
“Spring Fest is an event where students can all come together to celebrate spring coming up,” Jacobs said. “Students can be involved in different things like searching for different interviews, different job opportunities. But they can also enjoy a free lunch, free popcorn, free ice cream, student clubs, different organizations that the students can be a part of. And free swag, that is what the students are very excited for.”
Two events that will take place in conjunction with ‘Spring Fest’ are “Cats’ Career Help” and ‘Tips and Tricks to Interviewing.’ These programs aim to guide students through the job searching process along with application and interviewing techniques.
“So the ‘Tips and Tricks to Interviewing’ is on April 9th, from 3:30 to 4:30. And then for the ‘Cats Career Help,’ I’m there from 8 to 5, Monday through Friday, but we have specific events happening on April 4th, April 18th, and April 24th, to where I will be up there from 9 a.m. to Noon. And if students can’t make it during that time, they can set up a separate appointment with me,” Jacobs said.
The career prep programs are an added value on top of the affordable education that is offered at Ohio University Zanesville.
