OUZ Zane State College Spring Fest
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- While it doesn’t feel much like spring quite yet, students at Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College still participated in their annual Spring Fest.
Spring Fest usually happens outside, but today the students gathered in the Campus Center instead. The event is held as a way to bring students from both campuses together for networking and fun.
“A lot of OU students have friends that go to Zane State. A lot of Zane State students have friends that go to OU. They may not get to see each other as much,” said Michelle Pendergast the Administrative Specialist at Ohio University Zanesville. “They’re in different classes and it gives them a chance to get together, have some fun, eat some food, and just kind of enjoy each other’s company and really learn more about the other institution.”
The students were able to participate in fun events put on by student organizations. They enjoyed a pie facing booth, archery, and jousting. The students were also able to get information on safe driving and employment opportunities.
“We opened our student information booths up to outside organizations as well. So the Zanesville Jaycees has a booth. Fanatics has a booth,” said Molly Dunn the Zane State College Event Manager. “As well as State Highway Patrol, Muskingum County Health Department. So lots of opportunities for students to get involved with the community and also learn about possible employers in the community.”
The students also enjoyed a free lunch that included free Monster energy drinks and snow cones.
