Parks Named Artcoz Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Danielle Parks has been named the ArtCoz Artist of the Month for December.

Parks describes her works as elicit with bits of softness and contrast put into each piece. Her calling to art began when she took a ceramics class in high school and after stepping away for a few years she wanted to get back into the art world.

She said she gets her inspiration from nature to capture these stunning moments in time.

“The other end of it too is, I had created art prior to Covid, for years created different things, used different mediums, ceramics obviously, photography,” Parks said. “But after Covid, it kind of changed the way I looked at art, it became a necessity and not just something to do for fun, or expression, or just hey I’m feeling creative. And that’s what I had used it for before , I mean it’s joyful of course and an experience but I didn’t realize how necessary it was for therapeutic reasons. ”

For the First Friday Artwalk, Parks will be at Julie’s ARTery displaying some of her wearable art.

She said originally she was only going to have her earrings on display but wanted to also include a photo that inspired each set.

Parks also shared some advice to those who may be trying to get their foot back in to the wonderful world of art.

“It’s about finding the right medium for you, so many people say, “I’m not creative,”” Parks said. “We’re all creative, that’s our thing, that’s what we should be doing, be creating always, you just have to find your niche.”

Parks will be at Julie’s ARTery, located at 53 S. 7th St., from 5 to 8PM for the First Friday Artwalk.
