Partnership Helps Local Shelter Care for Animals

ZANESVILLE, OH – One Community Partnership many people tend to forget about is the one between the Animal Shelter Society and We Lov Pets on Northpointe Drive.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter, says they wouldn’t be able to do what they do at the Shelter if it weren’t for the Staff at We Lov Pets.

We Lov Pets has everything your furry friends could need but they also have animals ready for adoption, including cats at the Animals Shelter’s current Special price of $17.76.

“With what’s going on this year, the 250th, we thought how can we make it a little bit unique. That’s what the Animal Shelter Society is known for, we like to be very unique organization, since 1959.” Gibson said. “So I liked $17.76, I thought that would be a really cool number. Obviously we don’t make any money on the cats at that price, but it’s not always about the money, it’s about getting these animals into great homes.”

Gibson is also happy to report the Shelter has hit their goal for Hole Sponsors for the 8th Annual Putt 4 Paws happening this weekend at the Green Valley Golf Course.

Miranda Cartwright, the Manager of We Lov Pets, says they became one of the Top Dog Sponsors because they believe in the Shelter’s mission and want to help them in anyway they can.

“I think as much support as we can for the Shelter, I think really helps the animals and helps with keeping their doors open.” Cartwright said. “And so I think we try to do our best every time they have an event.”
