Patrol car struck, sending two to the hospital

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and one woman were both sent to the hospital Friday afternoon, after a two-vehicle car accident.
The incident took place on S.R. 146 at Tunis Rd., just shortly before 2:40 p.m.
Lt. Boyd of the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said Trooper Ted Davis, was driving westbound on S.R. 146 when he clocked a car for speeding. He pulled off to the side of the road to turn around, and was struck by a 2007 Toyota Avalon.
It is still unclear why the driver of the Toyota hit the patrol car.
Trooper Davis was transported to Genesis Hospital with minor injuries. He has been treated and released.
The woman driving the Toyota Avalon, Donna Horton, was also transported to Genesis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She remains at the hospital.
This incident remains under investigation.
