Patty Jane Davis of Caldwell, passed away peacefully at her home on May 23rd at the age of 91. Born November 28, 1933 in Cambridge, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bill Davis, her parents Walter and Mary Davis, sister Betty Cater, and grandmother Edna Jane Arnold. She is survived by her son Don, daughter Debbie, son-in-law Jim, Granddaughters Jane, Katie, Jackie, and Amy, sister Wanda Ziler, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and eight great grandchildren.

Patty grew up on the family farm in Fredericksdale and was involved in 4-H. She was an accomplished seamstress, making mother-daughter outfits in the 1960’s. Her hand stitched quilts are greatly treasured by family members and friends. Patty graduated from Sarahsville High School, Class of 1951. She played the violin in the school orchestra.

She was an active member of the Caldwell Church of Christ helping to prepare communion, plan the annual Mother Daughter Banquets, working in the kitchen at church dinners, and roasting the turkey for the yearly Thanksgiving church meal. She served as one of the first original committee members of the Sarahsville Alumni Banquet which is still going strong today.

Patty enjoyed tomato gardening, canning tomatoes, and planting flowers. She made the best potato salad for family and friends. During her younger days she rode in an ATV group with her husband and friends. She was involved in the Caldwell Band Parents Club for seven years.

In keeping with Patty’s wishes, calling hours will be observed on Sunday, May 25th at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street Caldwell, OH 43724 with Pastor Kris Bright officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Free Methodist Church Cemetery.
