Paul Artie Long

Paul Arthur “Artie” Long, 78, of Byesville, passed away Sunday (July 13, 2025) at Doctors Hospital, Columbus.

He was born December 21, 1946 in Barnesville, son of the late Paul R. Long and Dorothy M. (Brown) Long.

Paul worked at several factories in the area, including LDM/Arrow for twenty-four years.

He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed muscle cars and music from the 60’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Terry Leek; his nephew, Terry Leek Jr.; and his companion, Gloria Wheatley.

Paul is survived by his son, William Long; his step-daughter, Dawn Marie Bradford; two sisters, Sheila Leek of Caldwell and Cheryl (John) Hupp of Sarahsville; four grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Elizabeth, Austin, and Alyssa; and several nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Sarah J. Bradford.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (July 16, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evan. Mark Beros officiating.

Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery.
