Pauls Market offering a sweet treat this summer

Pauls Peaches

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- If you are craving something sweet you don’t have to go far for a summer treat.

Fresh peaches have arrived at Pauls Market on state route 60. Worker, Marvin Paul, said over the last couple of weeks they have picked around 40 pecks a day from over a hundred trees.

“Probably a hundred or so trees we put in about 5 years ago , a new orchard and probably right now is the biggest crop we’ve had. We have been doing peaches for probably over the past 50 or 60 years and this is probably one of the better years and its like a hot an miss every year. It’s always the weather that determines it and the trees how old they are, how much they will hold up.”

While this year is a hit, Paul explained they were able to pick a wealth of traditional favorites as well as a few new peaches this year.

“Right now we have the red haven, we have a few white ones we are picking, re haven is the big one everyone looks for I think its the flavor they have and then we will have some other types of haven, crest haven and there is a few new ones too that will be coming out.”

Paul noted peaches will be available at Pauls Market until early September.
