Peggy Jones

Peggy Sue Jones, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Genesis Hospice. Surrounded by comfort and love, Peggy’s gentle spirit and kind heart remained evident until the very end, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and cherished memories for all who knew her
Born on April 4, 1963, in Logan, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harrison and Jessie (Frye) Cox, Sr.
Peggy found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a remarkable ability to make ordinary moments feel special. She loved challenging herself with puzzles, spending quiet mornings watching the birds outside her window, and unwinding with the latest shows on Netflix. She was an avid bowler who treasured the friendships and laughter the sport brought into her life. One of her happiest places was the beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought her peace and contentment. Above all else, Peggy’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying each other’s company, she embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories. Her love was unwavering, her heart was generous, and her family always knew they were deeply cherished.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, James Jones, Jr. and Michael (Sharon) Jones; her daughter, Kendra Ritterbeck; her brothers, Harrison Cox, Jr. and Andrew Stollings; her sister, Barbara (David) Cooper; her favorite puppy and faithful companion, Jax; and her seven beloved grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her precious granddaughter, Callie May Jones, whose memory she carried with her always.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt and sincere appreciation to the staff and caregivers at the Morrison House for the exceptional kindness, compassion, and dignity they provided during Peggy’s final days. Their unwavering care and support brought comfort not only to Peggy but also to those who loved her most, and their generosity will never be forgotten.
