Penelope “Penny” Hayes

Penelope “Penny” Hayes, 80, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on April 5, 2026.
She was born on May 22, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Parry and Janet Bash. Penny was a graduate of Zanesville High School. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge in Zanesville, and the Red Hat Society. She liked to cook, sew, and work puzzles in her free time.
Penny is survived by her 2 children: Mark (Rhonda) Hayes and Mike (Vicki) Hayes; grandchildren: Hayden (Tory) Hayes, Harrison Hayes, Kaitlyn (Kyle) McQuade, Kendra Hayes; great grandchildren, Konlee, Harley, James; 2 sisters: Pamela Elliot and Patricia Orr; several nieces, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepdad, Harrold Murray; and her brother-in-law, John Elliot.
Per Penny’s wishes, a dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held.
