Perry Co. Man Back In Custody
A Perry County man who skipped the second day of his trial for drug charges is back in custody.
Saturday afternoon the Perry County Sheriff’s office arrested 34-year old Chad M. Stevenson at a campground at the AEP Reclamation Area on State Route 284 in Morgan County.
Deputies received a tip that Stevenson was in the area camping with his daughter. Undercover deputies with the sheriff’s office and the Crooksville Police Department were able to approach Stevenson undetected and take him into custody.
Stevenson was originally arrested in January after Perry County deputies executed a search warrant as part of a six-month investigation.
Stevenson did appear for the first day of his two-day jury trial, however he failed to appear for the second where he was convicted on a second degree felony count of illegal manufacturing of drugs and a third degree felony count of illegal possession.
Stevenson will appear in court later this week.
