Perry County, Joe Burrow Foundation Tackle Homelessness Together
NEW LEXINGTON, OH – The Perry County Housing Coalition is working to stop homelessness in the area, but sometimes, you just need some help.
That is where the Joe Burrow Foundation comes in, along with Burrow’s parents, raising money for the homeless in Perry County.
Homelessness in Perry County is a growing problem. In 2020, records say that there was only one homeless adult. Now, in 2025, there are 46 adults without a place to call home.
To help this issue, the coalition called upon the foundation of Ohio native, and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow.
“They brought the people out, and we want to remind the people why they came here” says Judge Luann Cooperrider, Judge at the Perry County Probate Juvenile Court.
“The message is that we all, people are good. You know, we want to help people.”
Help indeed they did, as auctions were held for local high school helmets, athletic items, and the biggest item of them all, a Joe Burrow-signed jersey.
This event was more than just about the donations. Jim and Robin Burrow also shared their son’s journey growing up in Athens, giving motivation to young athletes with the same dream he already accomplished.
“It’s amazing. We’re so proud of not only what he does on the football field, but what he does off the football field” says Jim Burrow, Joe’s father, and vice president of the foundation.
“Young kinds look up to him, and we’re proud of that. He’s a great football player, but we think as leading this ‘Joe Burrow Foundation’, he does a lot of great things off the field too.”
