Pet of the Week!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — She may not have any glass slippers, but this Pet of the Week might be the perfect fit for you.
Cinderella is a six-year old Chihuahua that weighs approximately three-and-a-half pounds. She has only been at the shelter for a few days but is already in desperate need of a new home.
“This is Cinderella, and Cinderella is about six years old. She’s a little Chihuahua, and she is just a sweet little dog, has a great personality. She came into us just a few days ago as an owner surrender, and desperately needs a home. Little bit frightened of being here at the shelter– all the noises, and smells and things,” said Jody Murray, the Executive Director for The Animal Shelter.
Murray says that you can tell Cinderella came from a home with a lot of love, as she loves being held, petted, sitting on your lap, and enjoys attention.
And while Cinderella is perfectly fit to get along with other animals, Murray adds the best home might be one where she is an only pet or has other small dogs she can play with.
“If she goes in with other animals, it’s going to have to be, obviously if it’s dogs and large dogs, most dogs are going to be bigger than her obviously, that are going to be very acceptable to her. You know, probably the ideal home would be no dogs or other small dogs that they can get along with,” Murray explained.
Cinderella’s adoption fee is $200.
The shelter also reminds everyone that their annual Paws & Claws Summer Jam event is Saturday, June 3rd from Noon to 6 p.m. at the Muskingum Family YMCA.
