Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Nayla, is this week’s Pet of the Week.

Nayla, a 2-year-old mane Coon Mix, has been at the shelter since May. Jody Murray, the Executive Director, said that Nayla is a great family cat, and loves to be held and petted.

“We like to get our cats out as soon as possible, said Murray. Cats don’t do well in the shelter. They get stressed out a lot. They are social creatures, and they like to be held and cuddled.”

The shelter was busy and full of volunteers Friday, helping with the upkeep of the building and even walking the dogs.

“The Nestle Purina company, they do a work day every year, where they send all their employees out and volunteer in the community, said Murray. They are working on our garden, they’re doing some painting inside and outside, and also have been walking our dogs.”

Nayla is up to date on her shots, and has had her surgery.

Her adoption fee has been reduced to $40. Contact the Animal Shelter Society if  interested in adopting.
