Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – After another week of news we are celebrating Friday with our Pet of the Week.

This nine week old Labrador mix is Silk. She’s been in foster care and was just returned to the Animal Shelter at the beginning of June.

“She’s just a wonderful little puppy,” Murray said. “You know people who are looking for a puppy and then looking for a family dog, labs are hard to beat so she’s going to fit the bill for that 100% for somebody.”

June 17, 2017 at noon the Animal Shelter Society will be at ‘We Luv Pets’ with a few dogs for adoption. Murray said Silk is not the only puppy that will be going up to ‘We Luv Pets’.

“Silk does have a little brother and the little brother will be there also,” said Murray. “So you know maybe if you’re looking for two puppies you can take brother and sister. We’ll have another puppy there up there for people to look at. Then again it’s 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at ‘We Luv Pets.”

Murray suggests that if anyone is interested in Silk or her brother for adoption they’ll need to be at “We Luv Pets’ at noon, for both puppies are expected to be adopted shortly after arriving. We Luv Pets is now located on Northpointe Drive.

Silk has already gotten her surgery and her adoption fee will be $135 plus the cost of tags.

Murray also invited the community to the Animal Shelter Society ‘Final Thursday‘ in June, July, and August. June 29, 2017 the shelter will stay open until 7:00 P.M. so people may come in and take a look at the shelter.

“The special thing about June 29, 2017 is it will be an ice cream social,” Murray said. “So you can come by and get some free ice cream, walk some dogs, and visit with us.”

The ice cream social will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and the ice cream will be provided by Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl.
