Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Now it’s time to have a festive and joyful story about one kitten looking for a fur-ever home.
Festus holds up to his name’s meaning, with his excitement and curiosity. Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society Jody Murray said this Pet of the Week loves people, animals, and is perfectly healthy and ready for his future family.
“He’s active your normal little kitty that likes to play, get out, look and see what’s going on,” Murray said. “He’s been with us since about the first of May and he’s ready to be adopted.”
Festus is a 3 month old domestic short hair that has an adoption fee of $70.00. Murray said they’ve gotten a large amount of cats in and people should check out the animals on National Clear the Shelter Day happening on August 19, 2017.
The specialty of this year’s National Clear the Shelter Day is that a limited number of animal adoptions will have no fee’s thanks to a family who is helping sponsor the big event.
“We’ve never participated to this level,” Murray said. “We had a family approach us and this is the first time that we’ve ever been able to do anything at this level. So it’s going to be a big day for us and you know we’re going to have extra staff and volunteers coming in. Try to make the process quickly and smoothly for people. 18
The only charge will be for dog tags. The Animal Shelter Society will open at 10:00 A.M. For more information contact the Animal Shelter Society at (740) 452-1077.
