ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weeks ‘Pet of the Week’ is not just a dog or a cat, it’s instead two ferrets.

Spaghetti and Meatball were brought in a few days ago. The male and female duo is healthy and already have gone through their surgeries.

“Usually people who are interested in ferrets, they adopt, have been in and they’ve had some experience with ferrets,” said Murray. “You can see they’re very friendly, like to move around a lot, and be in your lap.”

Spaghetti and Meatball’s adoption fee’s are $100. The Animal Shelter Society is also participating in a national event. ‘Clear the Shelter Day’ is on Saturday August 19, 2017 and the goal of this event is to get as many animals adopted as possible.

“We were very fortunate this year to have a family step forward, it’s Brian and Jeanne Jonard,” Murray said. “They are sponsoring the day for us, so there will be no adoption fees next Saturday. People can come in and adopt whatever we have here.”

The only charge people would need to pay for is a dog tag for $10.75 all adopted dogs. For more information go to the Animal Shelter Societies, animalsheltersociety.org.
