‘Pet of the Week’

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s pet of the week time, and this week we have two cats for less than the price of one.

Barney and Fred, from the Flintstones, are known as being best friends and inseparable. That’s how these two cats are. These cats are named after the hit TV show. Barney and Fred came to the shelter together and have created an incredible bond. The adoption fee for the two cats is $40.

“Unfortunately, when Fred came to us, he had an eye infection and now has no vision so he’s blind,” said Executive Director Jody Murray. “He came in with Barney and Barney has been his partner and helped him get around, helps him function throughout the day.”

The Animal Shelter is also selling tickets for their Paws and Claws Fall Benefit on October 21st. The shelter is still looking for donated items.

“We still have a lot of corporate sponsorship available. Last year we had a sellout. If you’re planning to have a reserved corporate table, please get in touch with us. If you’re planning to get tickets, please get in touch,” said Murray.

The benefit will include a dinner as well as an auction. Tickets can be purchased from the animal shelter for $25.
