Pet of the Week
This week’s “Pet of the Week” would be an ideal dog for any family.
Lenny is one of the newest pups at the Animal Shelter in need of a forever home. The 6-year-old basset-hound mix is very friendly with people and other dogs, and would make for a great companion. The best thing about Lenny is his adoption fee is only $65.
“He’s already had his surgery, he’ll be up-to-date on vaccinations, and we’ll microchip him at the time of adoption, so we always encourage people to come in and spend some time in our play room with the dogs, if they have questions or anything certainly they can talk with us and we’ll help them with that,” said Animal Shelter Executive Director, Jody Murray.
Some Muskingum University students are doing their part to give back. Members of the Chi Alpha Nu sorority spent some time at the shelter Friday lending a helping hand.
“We’re here to help the Animal Shelter to give back to anything they might need, I feel like Muskingum has given a lot back to our sorority so I think it’s only fair in return that our sorority would give back to anyone in the community that needs the help,” said student, Katie Snider. “It’s so rewarding to know that I made a difference and I know that I’m not really working with the animals right now, I’m painting, but I love animals, so just know that they have a good place to be until they find a really good home it’s a good feeling.”
Snider said she looks forward to doing more community service in the future.
