Pet of the Week: Dakota

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As the cool Fall weather quickly approaches, it is the perfect time to get a cuddle buddy and the Animal Shelter Society has just that.
Meet Dakota, an eight-year-old female beagle, who is sweet, caring, and loves to relax. Animal Shelter Society Board Member, Dawn Fello said she would fit great in any family, especially one that likes to relax, hangout and enjoy a well mannered dog.
“She loves when you pet her. She is good with any age group, she is good with cats. She has a little bit of stubbornness in her and she loves to play a little bit but other than that she is calm. She would make a great pet for anyone just to lay on the couch and just pet her, and just love on her,” said Fello.
The Animal Shelter Society also has their big “A Day in the Dog House” fundraiser tomorrow from 11 till 3 at the shelter.
“We have nine members from around the community that are going to be locked in a dog cage for four hours or until they can raise a certain amount of money and we will let them out. Fello also said, “The proceeds go directly to the Animal Shelter for medical care and other needs. Also, tomorrow during the event we are going to have 50 percent off adoption fee for dogs tomorrow.
Dakota is sponsored, so her adoption fee is only $40 plus $10 for tags. The Animal Shelter wants to thank Jim Watson from the Barn for sponsoring the first dog adopted at tomorrow’s event.
