Pet of the Week Recovering from Car Accident
The Animal Shelter’s ‘Pet of the Week’ is in need of more than just a forever home.
Oscar, also known as Rascal, is a four-year-old Boxer-Mix who needs your help,” said Executive Director Jody Murray. “This brave and adorable pup was rescued in Duncan Falls nearly a week ago. after unfortunately being hit by a car. Murray told us more about his story of survival.
“He came in and was adopted about two years ago,” said Murray. “The owner took him home, lived in the Duncan Falls area, and he got loose. Fortunately last week we were able to catch him, but unfortunately for Oscar (Rascal) in the mean time he had been hit by a car, he has a broken leg , so we are planning surgery for him.”
Not only will Oscar need surgery, but Murray said he will also have to go through extensive therapy. The Animal Shelter needs your help getting Oscar back on his feet, so they can find him the home he deserves.
“We’re kind of making a plea today for folks to help fund his surgery,” said Murray. “We’re going need some special equipment and some special tools to be able to do that, we’re just looking for some help to get him fixed back up.”
To help Oscar, the Animal Shelter is currently accepting donations. You can also donate through Oscar’s Go-fund-me page, which can be found on the Animal Shelter’s Facebook page.
