ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Animal Shelter Society has new furry friend to introduce this week.

This is Ambrosia, she is a one-year-old domestic short-haired cat who is looking for her ‘fur-ever’ home. Her adoption fee is $60 and she is up to date on her shots and has had her surgery. Now, she’s just ready to find a home.

“She’s ready to be adopted, we would encourage someone to come in and bring the family, spend some time, visit and make sure its going to be a good match. The adoption process is really simple, fill out a two-page application and we can get someone taken care of in and out of here,” said Jody Murray, Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society.

The shelter is also gearing up for their annual Yappy Hour event coming up on March 15th at the Zanesville Country Club. This major fundraiser helps keep the shelter in business taking care of the animals in Muskingum County.

“If you have a softness in your heart for animals and homeless animals you know that’s a way to support the shelter. In the past couple of months we have taken in lots of animals because of the cold weather,” said Murray. ” These fundraisers are real important for us, every penny we make goes right back into the care of animals.”

To meet little Ambrosia or for more information about getting tickets to Yappy Hour, you can visit the animal shelter at 1430 Newark Road in Zanesville.
