Pet of the Week: helping an animal in need

Doggie Daisy

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s Friday and that means it’s time for Pet of the week. However, this week’s version is different than usual.

This is Daisy. She is an Australian Shepherd who needs the communities help. She came to the shelter injured with a torn ACL. The surgery is costly and the shelter is asking for donations to help pay for the procedure.

“We’re looking for some financial support for her. It’s going to be a very expensive surgery. We have a go fund me account set up for her also. Folks can stop in here at the shelter and make a donation to help support her surgery,” said Executive Director Jody Murray.

After Daisy’s surgery, she will be available for adoption. She is an extremely friendly dog. She’s 5 or 6 years old and loves to cuddle.

“She’s a great dog, great around people. Even though she has an injury right now you can see she really likes people and gets along with other animals,” said Murray.

If you would like to donate you can either stop in or find the go fund me page on the shelter’s Facebook page.

An upcoming event for The Animal Shelter Society is the Comedy Night on 1/6/18. It will be at Bryan’s Place. Tickets can be purchased at the Animal Shelter. Tickets cost $20. The show will begin at 8 P.M. with the doors opening at 6 P.M.
