Petition in Noble County Overruled

The Caldwell Chief of Police’s petition, that he filed against Noble County Sheriff, Steve Hannum, back in January, will not affect Hannum’s ability to run in the May primary.

The Noble County Board of Elections held a hearing Monday, where it overruled Knowlton’s petition.

In it, Knowlton specified that Hannum needed to meet one of two conditions specified by the Ohio Revised Code, and it claimed Hannum met neither. However, the board says it found Hannum met the education requirement after he presented a transcript from Washington State Community College.

So, when voters head to the polls in May, they will see the names of both Knowlton and Hannum, running to win the democratic nomination for Noble County Sheriff.
