Pettit Serving as Alternate Delegate at RNC

Milwaukee, WI- A Zanesville man is participating in the Republican National Convention this week in Milwaukee.
Former Zanesville councilman and an Ohio Young Republican Cody Pettit is serving as an alternate delegate for the State of Ohio. Pettit was chosen after being asked to apply for the position.
“This is defiantly a bucket list item. I’ve been in politics as a volunteer role since 2008. I’ve done a lot of things in federal government, county government formerly on city council. It’s a bucket list and this is a unique and exciting convention,” said Alternate Delegate Cody Pettit.
This is Pettit’s first time attending a RNC. His position doesn’t put him on the floor of the convention, but overlooking it from above.
“We are seated above the floor. If the delegate needs to leave the floor for whatever reason we can go down there with the Ohio delegation,” explained Pettit. “So, Tuesday I was able to be on the floor for about an hour. ”
Pettit said after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday, he’s wanting to hear what he has to say. Trump is scheduled to speak at the GOP convention on Thursday evening.
