Phil + Chuck See Shadow – 6 More Weeks of Winter

The handlers of Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil say he’s seen his shadow and has predicted six more weeks of winter. Phil’s top hat-wearing inner circle revealed the forecast at sunrise Thursday. The tradition on Gobbler’s Knob, about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, is based on a German legend that says if a furry rodent see his shadow on February 2nd, it means there will be six more weeks of winter. Another groundhog in Marion, Buckeye Chuck, also saw his shadow meaning he is predicting spring won’t arrive until mid March.
