Picking the Perfect Pumpkin at Dupler’s Pumpkin Land

NEWARK, OH – Fall is officially here, and that means it’s pumpkin picking season! Dupler’s Pumpkin Land in Newark is a fall favorite where families come from all around to pick pumpkins, take photos, and make memories. From tiny pumpkins perfect for decorating, to ones almost too heavy to lift, everyone’s on the hunt for that perfect pick.

If you can think of it, we’ve got it. We grow our own unique blend of pumpkins including pink, blue, orange, yellow, and even with bumps. We have all sorts of shapes and sizes and of course you’re traditional carvers as well. We take pride in having something for everyone here.” Farm Manager, Reece Dupler said.

Once you find that perfect pumpkin, keeping it picture-perfect takes a little care. To make your pumpkin last longer, try a light bleach spray or even a coat of petroleum jelly to prevent mold and rot. And before you grab that carving knife, safety should be the first thing on your list.

Make sure you’re very careful with a knife and avoid using those real candles that go in the pumpkin. Obviously, it’s a fun time, and you don’t want anyone to hurt themselves by getting cut or burnt. Dupler said.

Dupler’s has become a local tradition, giving families the perfect way to celebrate the season.

“We have all sorts of animals, including emu, goats, chickens, and ducks. We have giant slides, and, on the weekends, we offer wagon rides as well as paintball shooting range.” Dupler said.

Dupler’s Pumpkin Land is located at 5766 Jacksontown Road in Newark. They’re open Sunday through Friday from noon to 7, and on Saturday from 10 to 7. More information can be found on their website.
