Players of The Week
POTW
Only a few more weeks left in the regular season for Zanesville area hoops, the lights are getting brighter and the games are becoming more meaningful and more players are stepping up to the plate. With that being said these are this week’s players of the week.
On Highway 103, the West Muskingum Tornadoes were at the “Power Plant” taking on the Electrics. In a back and forth affair in the first quarter West Muskingum found themselves taking over in the following quarters leading 41-24 at the half and then 64-49 in the third. Kyle Porter takes home player of the week after stuffing the stat sheet with 12 points, adding 5 dimes, and 4 rebounds.
On Z92 the crew was at New Concord to see the John Glenn Muskies taking on another top MVL opponent, the reigning Small School champs, the New Lexington Panthers. The Muskies have been on a roll taking down all the top teams in the MVL and they didn’t stop against the Panthers. CJ Dolan dropped in 16 points in a dominating victory as the John Glenn defense clamped the New Lex offense to only 6 points in the 3rd quarter.
We also had Saturday hoops at Rosecrans, Highway 103 covered this game as well and they handed the freshman phenom Brody Boothe the award with an excellent performance. He scored 18 points but it was in a losing effort as the Bishops fell in a close one to Catholic Central.
