Plea Entered In McKenzie Shooting Death
A Zanesville man charged in connection with the death of an area man made a plea Friday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. 26-year-old Reese Bowers who was originally facing two counts of murder and other charges in the death of 27-year-old Dajuan McKenzie plead guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter in the case. Zanesville Police say Bowers was arrested this past May in Columbus in connection with the shooting of McKenzie on April 21st at the intersection of Luck Avenue and Ohio Street. McKenzie was shot once in the upper body and once in the head. Judge Mark Fleegle continued Bowers bond at one-million dollars and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
