Political Vision for 2026
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Cost of living has increased significantly and many Ohioans are having trouble making ends meet.
Ohio 12th District U.S. Congressman Troy Balderson made a recent visit to WHIZ and shared some of the challenges that he is anticipating to address during 2026.
“I think, you know our focus will again be on energy and rural healthcare and healthcare in general,” Balderson said. “Our energy, we know that our costs are going up. We’ve got to continue to lower the cost of energy. That will be our number one priority and focus. And it’s reassuring that grid. It’s making sure that we bring back baseload energy so that we know that the lights will stay on for 24/7. Energy is a big, big piece to what we’re going to do in 2026 and continue moving forward with that.”
Shoring up the electrical grid is vital for American businesses big and small but energy affordability is tantamount to retail prices and consumer demand.
“The affordability piece is going to be the other big piece and that kind of comes in with the energy piece, it comes in with the healthcare piece,” Balderson said. “I think the administration is starting to refocus… back on the affordability for the American people. I want to continue to do that. I want to continue moving forward to make great economic development here. I want people to be able to have a job. When they have a job, it creates great pride in what they do.”
Balderson strongly believes in the positive outcomes his legislation can deliver for the American people and is willing to work across the aisle to see his efforts make America great again.
