ZANESVILLE, Ohio-  People across the country went outside to view the solar eclipse; one family in Zanesville made it into an eclipse pool party.

Pool Party’s are common at Angie Smith’s house. Pool party attendee and eclipse viewer, Rhonda Carter, said when it’s time for a pool party they go to the Smith’s house. Carter said between their friends and family’s love of pool parties, and everyone wanting to see the eclipse, putting the two together was an easy connection.

“This is amazing, it’s just amazing,” said Carter. “The kids get to enjoy it. They get to learn about it.”

Even though the pool party was for fun, the parents made sure safety, when viewing the sun, was still enforced.

“All I’ve been told is to not look at it without the glasses,” said eclipse viewer and party attendee, Kamerin.

About 20 people were poolside as they watched the solar eclipse.
