Port Authority Continues Search for Executive Director
The resignation of Mike Jacoby has left the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority without an executive director.
The Port Authority met for the first time since Jacoby left, But board member, Tom Poorman, said business is being carried out as normal.
“We have a very capable administrative assistant in Amy Young who is running the day to day operations of the port authority,” Poorman said. “As one board member, I’m helping out as needed with development prospects and so forth and so are the other board members.”
While business moves forward, so does the search for a new executive director. Poorman said a soft deadline of March 27 is set for applications to be submitted.
“We don’t even have a hard and fast deadline,” Poorman said. “We said we would start reviewing the applications after March 27 and so that will be the case. It doesn’t mean that’s the cut off, but if somebody wants to be in that first round of consideration, they probably want to get their materials to us very quickly.”
As of now only four people have applied for the position. Those people are Anthony Adornetto, Matthew Abbott, Stephen Wilson and Douglas Herlensky.
