Port Authority Learns More About Recreation Center
The Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority learned first hand today about the new Recreation Center planned for the Ohio University-Zanesville Campus. Today the president of The Community Bank and project committee member, Michael Steen told the Port Board members about the facility designed for fitness and swimming. There are four partners coming together to make it all happen…Ohio University Zanesville, Muskingum County Community Foundation, The Muskingum Family Y and Genesis Healthcare System. Steen say the almost 10 Million Dollar project would be attached to Littick Hall at OUZ. The recreation center will feature two swimming pools, fitness area, two lane walking or running track, racquetball courts and locker rooms. Now a community fundraising campaign is underway to help fund the project. The Center will be open to the public and Ohio University Students. Steen says construction could be underway by sometime next year.
