Update on Airport Park Project

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville-Muskingum Port Authority board meeting took place today, October 19, 2016 to discuss the update on their latest development projects.
The Port Authority discussed and watched a video on what’s taking place at the airport industrial park.  Executive Director, Matt Abbott, said the dynamic compaction is half way done with just about three or four more weeks until leveling.
“The process of deep dynamic compaction is taking place to fix some of the voids in the soil that were created from strip mining in the mid 70’s,” said Abbott. “So deep dynamic compaction basically a big 16 tone wait is dropped from about 60 feet.”
Once deep dynamic compaction is finished they’ll move onto leveling the ground and adding a sewer line extension. Abbott said all utilities will be on the property for business to start building on.
“This has enabled us to not only invest our money, but its going to enable us to invest money in other places,” said Abbott. “By having some grant dollars funded in to the project you know I think that partnership goes to show what we have here in Muskingum County.”
Once all the needed construction is finished the 21 acres of land will be move in ready. Abbott said their hoping to have all construction done by December of this year.
