Prayer Ceremony to be Held on 9/11 at Muskingum County Courthouse

With the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks just five days away, Muskingum County is doing its part to remember that horrible September day.

A prayer ceremony will be held at the Muskingum County Courthouse this coming Sunday at 3 p.m. to rememember those that perished in the 9/11 attacks .

"It’s a call to our nation to wake up and realize that there are things going on in this country economically, politically, spiritually that is trying to destroy our nation," said Coordinator Amy Moore.

Guest speakers from the Sheriff’s Office, educators, pastors, fire and police personnel will speak on the courthouse steps that day about 9/11 and where we stand today as a country.

"The 9/11 event just kind of woke people up that oh my gosh, terrorists, and horrible things can happen on this soil and so this event is just a cause to remember and honor those that were fallen during that day," said Moore.

The event is open to the public and will run from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m.
