Preliminary Hearing for Cambridge Murder Suspect

A Cambridge murder suspect appeared in court Monday for a preliminary hearing.
 

43-year-old Michael Smith is charged with aggravated murder with a gun specification in connection with the shooting death of 21- year-old Kyle Carter of Cambridge.
 

Court records show that Smith’s case will now go to Guernsey County Common Pleas Court.
 

Smith is being held in the Guernsey County Jail on a $1 million bond.
 

Earlier this month, Cambridge Police say Smith shot Carter near the intersection of North 9th Street and Stewart Avenue while he was walking with a friend.
