ZANESVILLE, OH – A local senior living community hosted their end of summer bash today and even invited a few more friends to join in.

Primrose Retirement Community hosted their 3rd annual Senior Summer Splashdown event today and invited residents from different senior living centers to have some fun.

Cassie Riffee, the Sales Director at Primrose, says residents got to dunk staff members in the dunk tank, take a trip down the slip and slide, have a good old fashion water balloon fight.

She says seeing the smiles on the seniors’ faces is what makes this event all worth while.

“This is our why. When you work in senior living, seeing these residents out here, they’re smiling, they’re dancing, they’re having fun.” Riffee said. “This is why we do what we do, is being able to see everybody just together, having a good time, fellowship, community, it’s honestly one of the best days.”

Some residents even invited their family members to come soak up some summer fun.

Norma Stillwell, the Resident Ambassador, says her son, daughter, granddaughter, and great-grand daughter were all in attendance today and had the best time making memories with each other.

“I am having so much fun.” Stillwell said. “The staff here is amazing, I mean they get out fun things all the time they work with us, I’ve learned I’m an artist and I didn’t know I was an artist before.”

Plans are already in the works for next year’s Senior Summer Splashdown Event.
