Prince Sentencing — ***UPDATED***

A woman who pled guilty in September to the involuntary manslaughter of her child was sentenced in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday morning.

Kristen Prince went before Judge Mark Fleegle and was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the involuntary manslaughter charge and 6 months on on a misdemeanor charge of child endangering to be served concurrently.  A felony charge of child endangering was dropped.   Prince admitted she punched her daughter Kadence in the stomach. Kadence was found dead October 31, 2007 in her Forest Avenue home.

Prince’s boyfriend Lionel Smith , who was also charged, pled guilty to one count of felony attempted child endangering, one count of misdemeanor child endangering and one count of failure to report a death or crime. Assistant Prosecutor Ron Welch has recommended her serve two years, which is the maximum time for the charges.
