Produce drive-thru

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local church will have its first produce drive-thru giveaway this coming Friday.

People in need of produce can come on Friday, March 7th at 11 A.M. to South Zanesville Village Park. Even though this event will be outside, people receiving produce won’t even have to leave their cars.

“When they come through, we will load their car. Quick, easy easy to get out. The requirements for the day are they need to bring a photo I.D. for themselves and they will need to sign a piece of paper stating that they do qualify,” said Samantha Puterbaugh.

This produce giveaway will be operated by New Covenant Church and is part of the Hunger Network. Pastor Candy Gibson said there will be plenty of volunteers helping provide food.

“We’re here to help the hunger in Muskingum County. So, this is just another site that will help provide meals for the hunger,” said Gibson.

People will be able to pick up produce the second Friday of every month. If you would like more information, you can contact New Covenant Church at (740) 297-7660.
