Public Hearing Held To Deal With Undocumented Right Of Ways
A public hearing was held before the bi-weekly council meeting Monday evening.
It dealt with undocumented right of ways and a request from Dutro Real Estate. We spoke to Patrick Denbow, Planning and Zoning Administrator for the City of Zanesville who gave us some background and an overview of the discussion.
"About a month ago they came through with a larger request for some larger through alleys that go through their job site. Those were passed by council about a month ago. These tonight were a couple smaller pieces, very small pieces, that were found later on within their site work process."
Denbow says they are located near the intersection of 5th and South Street which Dutro has been using as their grounds for many years now and the vacation would allow the company ownership. Denbow told us more about the second.
"The other is a small 10 foot alley that runs between 4th street and a previously vacated alley. The land surrounding it is mostly owned by the City of Zanesville. So the City of Zanesville will retain ownership of most of that piece of the alley. Dutro owns a portion of the property to the north of this alley and they will receive half of that alley."
An ordinance regarding these vacations was added to Monday’s council agenda. It passed as emergency.
